Formulas let you go beyond simple placeholders. Calculate totals, format dates, and include or exclude entire sections of a document based on what a user selects in the form — all without writing code.

Documents that do the thinking for you
- Use familiar, Excel-like expressions to perform calculations inside your template — total line items, work out a contract end date from a start date, apply a discount, or derive any value from fields already in the form.
- Show or hide entire sections of a document based on user input. An employment contract can include a probation clause only when that option is selected, for example — no manual editing required after the fact.
- Control how numbers and dates appear, add rows to tables based on variable data, and pull in values from multiple fields — so the finished document always looks exactly as it should, regardless of who filled in the form.
